Can’t Miss Summer Concerts Near You

Photo Cred: DailyHive.com

When the world shut down in 2020, it brought concerts to a screeching multi-years-long stop. And I was heartbroken.

In December 2019, I purchased a pair of tickets to take my mom to see Reba McEntire – a bucket list item for both of us – for a summer concert in 2020. It got postponed several times until we started to believe it would never happen. But it did! My mom and I finally got to hear Reba sing “Fancy” with a few thousand other folks in Atlanta in January 2022, and it was everything we dreamed it would be.

All this to say – concerts are back, and they are headed your way!

There are a ton of summer concerts near you. The heartbreak this summer will be narrowing down which ones to attend!

Peruse this list to have a better idea about the upcoming summer concerts near you so you can plan accordingly for tickets, travel, and child care

Check Out These Amazing Summer Concerts Near You

With artists trying to recoup their lost ticket sales due to COVID cancellations, there are a ton of concerts to choose from, with Atlanta and Charlotte both being tour stops for several major recording artists.

After being in your homes and babysitting your kiddos, we know that our parents’ music taste is varied. Some of parents still listen to music from their high school days (Bye Bye Bye) while others are all about new country. Some like to dance to something pop-y while cleaning the house and others like to relax with a glass of wine while listening to something mellow.

As a result, we’ve compiled a list of the must-see summer concerts near you representing a variety of music, budgets, and venue types.

Note – Several of these recording artists will be touring in Atlanta and Charlotte, so you can travel to another tour stop if you can’t make it to the summer concert near you.

Don’t Forget About Free Summer Concerts

If you live in Atlanta or Charlotte, you are lucky enough to have free summer concerts near you. Each of these cities offers several different free summer concert series. While they may not feature artists as famous as Lady Gaga, they do provide a great evening of live music – perfect for a girls’ night out or a budget-friendly date night.

In addition to regular free music concerts in Atlanta-area neighborhoods, the 2022 Atlanta Jazz Festival will take place May 28-30, 2022 in Piedmont Park. It is one of the largest FREE jazz festivals in the country.

For parents in Charlotte, you can enjoy a FREE acoustic concert at Music at the Met every Thursday from May to September. These weekly concerts feature live music by local musicians and food from surrounding restaurants.
