It all started in a college dorm room.
SitterTree got its start in an Oglethorpe University dorm in 2000. Jody Stephenson, a sophomore, was babysitting for two families. In between classes, she cared for their children and soon felt she was part of their families.
While babysitting provided flexible income, it was more than a job for Jody. It was an opportunity to give moms peace of mind while they took a much-needed break.
Soon, two families became 20. By the time Jody graduated, her team of trusted Oglethorpe babysitters (10% of the campus!) were caring for children throughout Metro Atlanta.
SitterTree continues to grow, but the vision remains the same: to harness the power of local communities to provide safe, professional, and engaging child care.
