Worship Week Childcare Assistant Role Overview We are looking for caring, energetic, and dependable childcare assistants to join our Celebration Kids team during Worship Week. Childcare will be provided for children from babies through 5th grade while parents attend the evening worship services. Our goal is to create a fun, safe, and welcoming environment where children feel loved and cared for. Throughout the week, children will enjoy games, crafts, snacks, free play, and age-appropriate activities. On two of the four evenings, we will also have a movie night for the children. Experience caring for babies, toddlers, and young children is highly preferred. Responsibilities * Provide attentive and loving care for children from babies through 5th grade. * Engage with children through games, crafts, free play, and age-appropriate activities. * Help supervise movie nights and ensure children remain engaged and safe. * Change diapers as needed while following our Kids Ministry procedures. * Assist children with snacks while being mindful of allergies and safety. * Comfort children who may be nervous or upset and help them feel welcome. * Ensure children are actively supervised at all times and are never left unattended. * Work alongside the Kids Ministry team to create a safe, fun, and organized environment. * Communicate any concerns, injuries, or incidents to the Kids Coordinator immediately. Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who: * Has experience caring for babies, toddlers, and/or elementary-aged children. * Loves spending time with children and enjoys actively playing with them. * Is warm, patient, energetic, and dependable. * Is comfortable getting on the floor to play, lead games, read stories, and interact with children. * Is attentive and safety-minded, always keeping children within sight and properly supervised. * Works well as part of a team. * Communicates clearly and follows directions. * Takes initiative and is willing to jump in wherever help is needed. Dress Code * Please arrive neatly dressed in clean, modest clothing. * Jeans or pants should not have holes or rips. * No shorts or crop tops/short shirts while serving. * On your first evening, you will be provided with a Celebration Kids T-shirt, which is required to be worn while serving. This helps families and our team easily identify who is authorized to be in the Kids Ministry area and supports a safe environment for our children. While Serving * Children should always be actively supervised and attended to. They should never be left alone in a classroom. * If you need to step away for any reason, please notify the Kids Coordinator so another approved team member can supervise the children before you leave. * Cell phones should only be used for emergencies or ministry-related communication while serving. * Please model a positive, joyful, and encouraging attitude throughout the evening. End-of-Evening Responsibilities At the end of each evening, we ask that you help prepare the rooms for the following day by: * Wiping down toys and high-touch surfaces with disinfectant wipes or spray. * Tidying and resetting the classrooms. * Returning toys, games, and supplies to their designated places. Thank you for helping us provide a safe, engaging, and enjoyable experience for every child during Worship Week. Your care, enthusiasm, and commitment to excellence allow parents to worship with peace of mind, knowing their children are in a loving and secure environment.
