Family Assistant / After-School Nanny (Tuesday & Wednesday Afternoons - 7 hours a week guaranteed, more possible) We're a fun, active family with two kind, energetic elementary-aged boys, and we're looking for a dependable, caring, and organized Family Assistant to become a valued part of our weekly routine. We love spending time outdoors, value kindness and curiosity, and appreciate a calm, organized home. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys building meaningful relationships with children while also helping a busy household run smoothly. In addition to the hours listed, occasional additional hours for date nights, school breaks, or teacher workdays, by mutual agreement. Responsibilities Childcare * Pick up the boys from school (reliable vehicle required) * Drive them to after-school activities as needed * Help with homework and encourage good study habits * Supervise playtime and create a fun, positive afternoon * Prepare simple, healthy snacks or meals when appropriate * Foster a safe, engaging, and encouraging environment Household Support When the boys are occupied or every other Wednesday (when they're with their dad), responsibilities shift to helping our home stay organized. Tasks may include: * Folding and putting away laundry * Light meal preparation * Organizing toys, closets, or household spaces * Loading and unloading the dishwasher * Light vacuuming and tidying * Running occasional errands * Other household projects as needed We have a regular cleaning service, so this is **not** a heavy housekeeping position. Qualifications * Reliable vehicle and clean driving record * Comfortable transporting children * Previous childcare experience preferred * Organized, dependable, and proactive * Able to balance childcare with household responsibilities * CPR/First Aid certification is a plus * Willing to occasionally work an evening for a date night (with advance notice) Compensation *$25–32 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications *Paid for any agreed-upon additional hours, including occasional date nights, school breaks, or teacher workdays The Right Person Is... * Warm, patient, and enjoys spending time with children * Self-motivated and able to notice what needs to be done without constant direction * Dependable and communicates well * Comfortable juggling a variety of tasks * Looking for a long-term position where they can become an important part of a family's routine If you're someone who loves working with kids, enjoys creating order, and wants to make a meaningful difference for a family each week, we'd love to hear from you!
