I am a retired New York City Public School teacher of 17 years. I am currently working in the education field as an assistant teacher in Prince Georges County Public Schools. I love working with children and showing them how to be a better person. I began working with children at a camp when I was 14 years old. I knew that was my calling to work with children after that camp experience. I have experience working with newborns, toddlers, kids and teenagers. I also have experience working with special needs. I enjoy working and spending time with children because they are our future. I enjoy anything from watching television with them to assisting them with their school assignments. I believe every child is unique and can do anything they put their minds to. I believe I would be a positive influence on any child.

I have been working full-time in childcare since 2021. Prior to that, I gained valuable experience as a part-time babysitter and a seasonal summer camp counselor. Before entering the childcare field, I spent 10 years in customer service. My decision to transition into childcare was a thoughtful one—I realized that my true passion has always been teaching and supporting growth in others. Since making that change, I’ve never been happier. I began my childcare career as a teacher assistant at a Montessori school, where I completed six professional development trainings. Working alongside certified Montessori teachers gave me a strong understanding of the Montessori approach. Since 2022, I’ve been working at a Reggio Emilia–inspired school, which has become my favorite educational approach. I love how it’s child-led and encourages lots of outdoor exploration and learning. During the 2023–2024 academic year, I also taught the Singapore Math curriculum to 5- to 6-year-olds in an after-school program. I’m confident working with children of different ages and always strive to create a nurturing, engaging, and supportive environment for every child in my care.
