To join SitterTree, all caregivers must pass a third-party background check. To remain active on SitterTree, caregivers must also pass this background check annually. All caregivers who pass the background check receive the Basic Background Check badge on their profile. This badge expires one year after background check completion, at which point the caregiver must renew their check.
What the background check includes
The third-party background check required for caregivers to join SitterTree includes a social security trace, global watchlist search, sex offender search, and national criminal record check for all known aliases.
Who conducts the background check?
Background checks are conducted through third-party consumer reporting agency Checkr. SitterTree does not conduct background checks directly, and does not interpret or verify the results. Background checks can only reflect available records at the time they are conducted. Because records can change over time and reporting requirements vary by jurisdiction, no background check can provide a current picture of an individual's history.
