I have been working full-time in childcare since 2021. Prior to that, I gained valuable experience as a part-time babysitter and a seasonal summer camp counselor. Before entering the childcare field, I spent 10 years in customer service. My decision to transition into childcare was a thoughtful one—I realized that my true passion has always been teaching and supporting growth in others. Since making that change, I’ve never been happier. I began my childcare career as a teacher assistant at a Montessori school, where I completed six professional development trainings. Working alongside certified Montessori teachers gave me a strong understanding of the Montessori approach. Since 2022, I’ve been working at a Reggio Emilia–inspired school, which has become my favorite educational approach. I love how it’s child-led and encourages lots of outdoor exploration and learning. During the 2023–2024 academic year, I also taught the Singapore Math curriculum to 5- to 6-year-olds in an after-school program.
