What are booking and cancellation policies?

Sitters set their own booking and cancellation policies. These help set clear expectations before you book.

Booking policies

A sitter’s Booking Policy is the minimum number of a hours a sitter is willing to work per job. These are typically between 1-4 hours.

If you book a sitter for a job with a length shorter than their Booking Policy, you’ll be responsible for payment for the full amount of their minimum hours.

Cancellation policies

Sitters set their own Cancellation Policies. If you cancel a job after booking a sitter, you’ll pay a fee based on their individual policy.

Common Cancellation Policies are:

• No cancellation fees
• Flexible
• $10 any time after booking
• Moderate
• $20 within 12 hours of start time
• $10 any time after booking
• Firm
• $45 after start time
• $35 within 1 hour of start time
• $25 within 3 hours of start time
• $20 within 12 hours of start time
• $10 any time after booking

Where to find policies

You can view a sitter’s booking and cancellation policies in their profile under Services. The policies in place at the time of booking will apply even if the sitter updates them later.
