What is the DECAL badge and how do I earn it?
Child care providers in the state of Georgia can earn the DECAL badge to qualify for jobs at licensed child care centers in Georgia. This badge is earned by completing an additional third-party background check, including a free, in-person fingerprinting through the Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning (DECAL).
After earning this badge, you will be able to apply to jobs at preschools, daycares, and early learning centers.

Earning the DECAL badge
Go to Badges > New badges > DECAL
- Register to get fingerprinted. List SitterTree as the facility and leave all other fields blank, then select Search > Select (next to SitterTree)

- Check your email. Follow the next steps from DECAL to complete any applicable out-of-state checks.
- Schedule and complete your fingerprinting appointment.
- After fingerprinting, SitterTree usually receives your results within 1-3 business days. You’ll be notified when your DECAL badge is added to your account.
If you have completed fingerprinting with DECAL within the last year, you do not need to complete another check. Schedule a call with SitterTree Support to port your existing DECAL check.
