Amber

Hi! My name is Amber Jallow, and caring for and supporting young people has been a constant part of my life. My childcare journey began at a young age when I regularly babysat my younger brother and a neighborhood child for several years. Those early experiences taught me responsibility, patience, and the importance of creating a safe, nurturing environment where children feel seen and supported. As I grew older, my passion for working with others continued into college, where I held an on-campus position working directly with college students. This role strengthened my communication skills, professionalism, and ability to adapt to different personalities and needs. As a college graduate, I am confident in assisting with homework, projects, and academic routines while keeping learning positive and engaging. Alongside my college responsibilities, I spent several years mentoring middle school and high school students through BEST Academy, where I focused on guidance, encouragement, and helping students build confidence both academically and personally. Through this experience, I further developed my ability to support homework, study skills, and overall academic confidence. Today, I remain deeply involved in youth development as a board member for Youth Creating New Beginnings, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering children from kindergarten through 12th grade. In this role, I actively pour into young people by supporting programs, mentorship, and initiatives that promote growth, stability, and positive life skills. Across all of these experiences, I’ve learned how to connect with children of all ages, meet them where they are, and provide care that is attentive, dependable, and compassionate. I take pride in being someone families can trust, someone who values structure, kindness, and creating a positive environment where children can thrive.
