Shaliyah

Hi! My name is Shaliyah Black, and I’m currently a Biology major at Georgia State University with plans to become a physician assistant. I’ve always had a passion for caregiving, especially when it comes to working with children. Right now, I work at University School as both a camp counselor and a substitute teacher. In these roles, I get the chance to guide students through fun, educational activities and support their development in and out of the classroom. I also babysit for a few families from the school, which has allowed me to build strong, trusting relationships with the kids and their parents. These experiences have taught me patience, adaptability, and how to stay calm and present in any situation. Outside of academics and work, I love to cook, it’s one of my favorite ways to relax and bring joy to others. I truly enjoy helping people and look forward to a future in healthcare.
