I love being a sitter because I enjoy helping children learn, grow, and feel cared for in a safe and positive environment. I’ve always valued building meaningful connections, and working with kids allows me to bring patience, creativity, and empathy into each day. I love creating calm, structured environments where kids can feel safe and have fun! I have professional experience supporting individuals with different needs through my work as a Direct Support Professional, which required a lot of patience, communication, and responsibility — skills that translate very well into childcare. Outside of that, I’ve helped care for younger relatives and family friends’ children, handling routines like meals, playtime, and bedtime. I’m comfortable creating engaging, age-appropriate activities and maintaining a safe, nurturing environment. I’m trained in providing direct care and support, including de-escalation, active listening, maintaining safety, and medication administration . I’m also very organized and attentive, which helps with routines like meals, homework, and bedtime. My experience as a DSP helped me build strong communication skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure. I also have my CPR and First Aid certification.
