Rachel

Hi! I’m Rachel. I grew up as the middle child with an older brother and a younger brother, so taking care of kids has pretty much been part of my life from the start. I spent a lot of time helping with my little brother, which taught me patience, responsibility, and how to handle the unexpected. I also have a dog at home, so I’m super comfortable around pets and love having them around while I’m babysitting. Last summer, I worked as a camp counselor at a drowning-prevention camp in Uganda, where I helped kids ages 4–12. It was one of the most meaningful experiences I’ve had, and it really strengthened my ability to work with different personalities and energy levels. I currently tutor a few middle schoolers in science over Zoom and have experience teaching a student with ADHD, so I’m familiar with supporting different learning needs. I also help my friends’ younger siblings with homework pretty often. Overall, I love being around kids, staying engaged with them, and creating a fun and safe environment.
