Holly

Hi, my name is Holly, and I have experience working with children in both camp and educational settings. I enjoy creating safe, engaging, and supportive environments where children can learn, play, and grow. Most recently, I worked as an Assistant Preschool Counselor at Noah’s Ark Summer Camp at the Jewish Community Center in Owings Mills, MD. In that role, I provided active supervision to ensure children’s safety at all times by maintaining ratio and keeping children in sight and sound. I supported both indoor and outdoor activities, including swim and water play, and worked with children individually and in small groups. I focused on supporting children’s physical, emotional, social, and intellectual development through daily activities. I also assisted with documenting children’s learning and play through photos and communication with families, and I communicated any concerns to lead staff and directors when needed. I also worked as a Facilitator and Teacher with the Teaching Collective at SUNY Albany, where I co-facilitated an Introduction to Feminism course. I helped design and deliver interactive lesson plans, supported student learning through grading and feedback, and contributed to an inclusive classroom environment that encouraged participation and critical thinking. Earlier, I served as a Junior Counselor at St. Paul’s School Summer Camp, where I supported daily camp operations including attendance, meals, and activity transitions. I assisted with sports, arts, STEM, and group activities, and helped ensure a smooth and structured camp day for children ages 4 to 12. I also trained as a Counselor in Training, which gave me early experience supporting children in a camp setting. In addition, I volunteered with the Boys and Girls Club of the Capital Area, where I assisted with youth activities, crafts, and event support. Overall, I bring hands-on childcare experience, strong communication skills, and a genuine passion for supporting children’s growth in safe, fun, and structured environments.
