Hello! My name is Kennedy Smith, and I have a genuine passion for caring for and supporting children. While my professional background is in social work, victim advocacy, and behavioral health, many of the skills I’ve developed naturally carry over into childcare. Through my experience working with children and families, I’ve learned the importance of creating a safe, nurturing, and structured environment where children can learn, grow, and feel valued. I have experience communicating with children of different ages, supporting their emotional and behavioral needs, encouraging positive social interactions, and building trusting relationships with both children and their families. As a Master of Social Work student, I’ve received training in child development, family systems, trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, and effective communication. These experiences have strengthened my patience, empathy, problem-solving abilities, and understanding that every child has unique needs and deserves individualized care. I believe childcare is about fostering children’s confidence, encouraging curiosity, teaching kindness and responsibility, and helping them reach developmental milestones in a fun and supportive way. Whether I’m assisting with homework, planning engaging activities, preparing meals, maintaining routines, or simply being a positive and dependable presence, I strive to make every child feel safe, heard, and encouraged. Parents can count on me to be responsible, dependable, attentive, and compassionate. I understand the trust families place in their childcare provider, and I take that responsibility seriously. My goal is to provide consistent, high-quality care that supports each child’s overall well-being and development.
