Makyla

Hello! I’m Makyla, and I’m currently a junior in college majoring in biomedical science. Although my major is focused on science and healthcare, I’ve always had a passion for working with children and being someone they can feel comfortable and supported around. My experience with children started in high school when I was part of the Buddy Program, where I spent a class period working with and supporting students with special needs. I also volunteered with children’s church and later worked as a sous chef, where I helped coordinate and conduct cooking classes for groups of up to 30 students. During summer 2025, I worked for Grady Health System as a TELP Leader, where I supervised and supported over 70 high school students throughout a seven-week healthcare program. I helped manage schedules, clinical rotations, attendance, and student needs throughout the program. Now, I currently babysit for a local family and am looking to connect with more families who need dependable and caring childcare. Through all of these experiences, I’ve realized I enjoy working with children of different ages and creating a safe, positive environment where they can have fun and feel cared for.
