I have extensive experience working with children from infancy through early elementary grades, including my role as a Georgia Pre-K Lead Teacher. My teaching style blends hands-on, engaging learning with research-based best practices to meet the needs of all learners. In my classroom, I create lessons that are developmentally appropriate, standards-based, and aligned with both the Georgia Early Learning and Development Standards (GELDS) and Georgia Standards of Excellence (GSE). I integrate literacy, math, STEM, social skills, and creative play into daily activities, making sure lessons are engaging and meaningful for every student. I am skilled in differentiating instruction—adapting content, process, environment, and products to meet the needs of diverse learners. This includes providing modifications and accommodations for students with IEPs, 504 Plans, or other learning challenges, while also extending and enriching lessons for gifted learners. Classroom management is a strength of mine. I use positive behavior intervention and support (PBIS), functional behavior assessments (FBA), and proactive strategies to create a respectful, motivating learning environment. I focus on building intrinsic motivation, helping students regulate their emotions, and encouraging them to take risks in their learning. Family engagement is also a priority for me. I maintain consistent communication through newsletters, meetings, and collaborative goal-setting. I share resources and strategies so families can continue supporting their children’s development at home. I am passionate about inclusive education and have a solid understanding of IDEA, due process, related services, and strategies for supporting exceptional learners. My graduate studies in Early Childhood Education at Brenau University have deepened my knowledge of student engagement, diversity, and differentiated instruction. Overall, I take a holistic approach to childcare—combining strong classroom practice with a genuine commitment to equity, inclusion, and lifelong learning for every child in my care.
