I have 13 years of paid experience working with children whose ages ranged from 4-weeks to 13 years of age. For the families I have worked with, I mostly did pick-up and drop-offs at camp and other appointments, trips to the park for outdoor activities, went to local museums, played educational games in preparation for the following school year, prepared light dinner, and assisted with bath and bedtime routines. My favorite activities to participate in with children include: reading, educational games, singing and dancing, arts & crafts, improvisation, and generally being silly! I love to bring a sitter bag packed full of activities-books, craft supplies, puzzles, play dough, and so much more! I enjoy babysitting because I love working with children and I am happy to assist parents who must run errands or attend social engagements. Babysitting has enhanced my communication skills as I have learned ways to engage most effectively with children of all ages and varying interests; and it has taught me how to be patient, creative, and open to activities that children suggest.
