I enjoy babysitting because kids are such lights in this world. I live by the motto that it takes a village to thrive, no matter what age you may be. With children as the future I believe it's important to have positive figures in all aspects of life, even if it's just babysitting. I enjoy helping children use and love their imaginations to be creative through field trips, activities, and everyday experiences, especially from 2-10 years old. The part of babysitting that I love and think is most important, is understanding that every child is unique, even more so from 4 years of age and up. Knowing and believing in this allows me to be a better caretaker and person. I think that my energetic personality and my genuine enjoyment for being around children makes me a great babysitter. Ever since I began high school, I always made sure that I was able to dedicate a part of my time to volunteering with after school care at the nearby elementary school and to tutoring children who needed a little one-on-one attention to succeed in the classroom. I have also worked for various tutoring companies which gave me a great deal of experience tutoring young children. I find it important that children develop the habit early of enjoying the outdoors and staying active, especially in this day and age of technology. For this reason, I make an effort to play with the children outside and find alternative activities that don't involve technology as much. As a babysitter, I am also very flexible and understand that plans change, especially for busy parents. I am happy to go grocery shopping, pick children up from various activities, and prepare dinner as these needs may arise. Lastly, one of the most important qualities I have as a babysitter is patience. I understand that it can sometimes be difficult to work with children, but the ability to have patience when their behavior is not the most ideal is often what can ameliorate the situation.

CPR/BLS certified I have been babysitting for families for several years, working for family friends as well as families that I have met through social media outlets. I have personal experience working for families with children ranging from the ages of 7-12, but have also worked in church groups such as bible study and summer camps with children 3 years and up! I have experience with young children, and met a family through SitterTree that I babysat with for years, and loved it! I also have worked as a gym coach for about two years, working with groups of about 5-10 kids, which really taught me how to multitask and stay active with kids, even when there are more of them than me. I enjoy staying active like this, so some things that I really enjoy doing with kids includes playing outside and being involved in games with them, or even just hanging out in the house, reading, coloring, or doing puzzles. I also tend to clean throughout the day so that there is no need to clean up a large mess at the end of the visit. The parents I have worked for have positive reports and usually ask when I will be available to work for them again! I am very excited to be able to start on Sittertree, and can't wait to meet and get to know your family!
