What started as a babysitter’s club in Atlanta has grown into a trusted network across the nation. But what hasn’t changed are the neighborly values SitterTree was founded on—because we believe truly great child care is rooted in community.

Hi! I'm Miss Lynn, and I have one solid year teaching in daycare and currently work as a substitute daycare teacher! I genuinely enjoy playing with and teaching kiddos. Arts and crafts, singing, dancing, outdoor play, dolls, dress-up, board games, helping out with homework and video games - I can do it all! I like to bring my ow materials during work as well - typically my own children's stories and coloring pages. I like to give out little candies or stickers as incentives for educational activities if the parents allow it. I discipline based on the parent's preference. By default, I use the distraction approach, as all childcare facilities have adopted. I ensure diaper changing surfaces are cleaned with the parent's provided cleaning materials, and encourage hand-washing. I have no issues with teaching potty-training either - just know that two years is the the minumum age I am willing to do so. I understand children with autism pretty well, as I was diagnosed with it myself at age eleven. I am only moderately affected, but can usually see and understand what is bothering the child's senses or why they might feel frustrated, as I remember my early frustrations vividly. I grew up with a child that was almost entirely non-verbal as well, and am very patient with them. I ask a lot of questions, I provide a set of answers if need be, and I am patient. I also love to entertain their interests - if they like the moon, I might bring in a book about moons. I, in particular, was obsessed with gerbils when I was little, and my mother brought me every book about gerbils that she could find! I am also familiar with ADHD, and encourage wiggling exercises and the use of fidget toys. For example, I might give the child a fidget toy to play with during story time or when it's time to settle for nap time. As I hav mentioned, I work as a sub or daycare facilities throughout Phoenix, so I like to follow a similar schedule like the typical centers do. (I would follow the parent's preferred schedule, however.) Anyway, what else can I say other than I love to make babysitting days fun? I'm very silly, very animated, and safety-oriented!
