Brittany
Hi! I’m a dependable, patient, and caring person with many years of hands-on childcare experience. Taking care of children has always been a natural part of my life, and I truly enjoy helping kids feel safe, supported, and encouraged I loved being able to guide and encourage them, and many of them stayed in touch to tell me how those early lessons helped them later in life. as they grow. I’m also a Registered CNA and hold a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Heart Association, which has given me additional training in safety, emergency response, and caring for others. My childcare experience started very early in life. When I was 10 years old, the first of my five baby cousins was born. By the time she was about three months old, I began helping care for her on my own. As more of my cousins were born over the years, I regularly babysat them as well, sometimes caring for three children at a time for full days that lasted around eight hours. I helped with feeding, diaper changes, naps, playtime, and keeping them on a routine. I continued caring for them from infancy through around age 12, which helped me gain a strong understanding of how children grow and develop at different stages. In my professional career, I spent many years as a retail store manager at American Eagle Outfitters, where most of the employees I hired were teenagers between the ages of 16 and 19. I naturally took on a mentorship role with them, helping them build confidence, responsibility, and communication skills as they worked their first jobs. I loved being able to guide and encourage them, and many of them stayed in touch to tell me how those early lessons helped them later in life. Most recently, I have been helping care for my nephews. My first nephew was born on June 22, 2024, and since April 2025 I have been watching him five days a week for more than eight hours a day while focusing on my radiology technology program. My second nephew was born on December 7, and I now care for both of them together during the day. This has given me daily, hands-on experience caring for infants, including feeding, soothing, nap schedules, and creating a calm, safe environment for them to grow and play. I have also gained helpful insight into supporting children with different needs through my boyfriend, who is a special education teacher. Through him, I’ve learned more about patience, communication, and ways to better support children with disabilities or unique learning needs. Overall, caring for children has been a consistent and meaningful part of my life. I love creating a positive and nurturing environment where kids can have fun, feel supported, and continue learning. I would be grateful for the opportunity to help care for and support children within the church community.
