From a very young age, I have always had a deep love and passion for working with children. Whether it was babysitting for family friends or helping raise my nieces and nephew, being around kids has always brought me joy and purpose. I’ve found that children naturally gravitate toward me as well — something I take great pride in, as it reflects the patience, kindness, and care I strive to show every day. Currently, I am in my senior year of high school and enrolled in an entry-level education course that allows me to earn college credit while gaining hands-on experience in the field. Through this program, I have the opportunity to visit and learn at three different schools each week, observing and assisting with various stages of child development. These experiences have strengthened my desire to pursue a career in education and have given me valuable insight into how children grow, learn, and thrive. In addition to my schoolwork, I have been employed at Goldfish Swim School for the past three years. There, I’ve had the privilege of building wonderful relationships with both the children I teach and their families. This role has not only helped me refine my communication and leadership skills but has also taught me the importance of creating a safe, supportive, and fun learning environment. Working with children is more than just something I enjoy — it’s something that fulfills me. Every interaction reminds me of the impact caring adults can have on a child’s confidence and development. I am excited to continue pursuing opportunities that allow me to grow as an educator and positively influence the lives of young learners.

Hello I have raised 5 children so that gave me a lot of practice. After retirement I volunteered to help as a teacher assistant at Our Saviors Lutheran School in Springfield Illinois and helped tutor students after school. I also was a basketball coach for the girls 7/8th grade at the same school for 4 years. I love working and playing with kids…they bring me joy and fulfill my purpose of helping educate our youth.
