How do I create a sitter account?
To create a sitter account on SitterTree, sign up as a sitter and complete your profile. Once your profile is complete, you can search for jobs in your area.
Follow these steps to get started.
Sign up as a sitter
- Go to SitterTree > Sign Up > I’m a Sitter
- Enter your email address, create a password, and add your zip code
You’ve officially created your account! Now, it’s time to complete your profile.
Add personal information
- Upload a clear, friendly profile photo. (See our tips for selecting the right photo.)
- Enter your full legal first and last name
- Add your phone number
Add your experience
Draft your bio
Share a few sentences on your experience, qualifications, and what makes you unique as a sitter. Don’t include personal contact information. Use these tips to get started.
Select age ranges
Select the age groups you’ve cared for. This helps you find the right jobs for your experience.
Note: If you select 0-12 months, you’ll be asked to complete a short quiz on caring for infants. You must answer all questions correctly to display this age range on your profile.
Add additional details
Next, make a few selections to round your profile out, including:
- The largest number of children you’ve cared for
- Previous child care roles
- Experience with disabilities
- Favorite activities to do with children
- Transportation
This information helps families and groups learn more about you, your skills, and if you’re the right fit for their job
Select services and set rates
Select services
Choose which child care services you’d like to offer. This makes it easier for the right families and groups to find you. Services you can offer include:
- Babysitting
- Nannying
- Church child care
- Preschool substitute teaching
Set hourly rates
For babysitting and nanny jobs, you’ll set your rates upfront. You’ll see your estimated take-home pay after SitterTree’s service fee before saving your rates. You may update your rates at any time. See our tips for setting rates.
Set policies
These policies apply to all jobs.
- Booking policy: The minimum number of hours you are willing to work per job.
- Cancellation policy: How much notice a family or group must give to cancel without payment, and what you’ll be paid if they cancel after that window.
Get tips on setting booking and cancellation policies.

Your account is created and your profile is complete. Great work!
Now it’s time to:
- Search for jobs in your area

Once those steps are complete, you’ll be booking jobs in no time.
