Why was my sitter account restricted or closed?

Accounts may be restricted or closed for a variety of reasons. Check your email for more details about your specific situation.

Common reasons for account closure include:

  • Not passing a background check or ID verification
  • Having a previously closed account
  • Safety issues, including user reports
  • Not maintaining SitterTree’s Quality Standards

Quality Standards

To stay active on SitterTree, sitters must maintain the following standards, based on their interactions in the community:

  • A minimum 4.5-star average rating
  • No more than 3 last-minute cancellations (within 12 hours) in a 90-day period
  • No more than 2 profile blocks from completed jobs within 12 months
  • No last-minute cancellations or no-shows on your first job

If your account no longer meets these standards, it may be permanently restricted or closed.

What happens next

If your account is closed:

  • You’ll be removed from any upcoming jobs
  • You can still access your account to withdraw any remaining earnings and manage your Stripe account

If your account is restricted:

  • You’ll only be able to apply to jobs with families and groups that have added you as a Favorite sitter
