For more than 18 years, I often volunteered at my mother’s class at CH Gullat Elementary school with student activities, field day, creating songs to help them learn, taught them about Beverly Clearly & Boxcar Kids books, and helped with baking for student birthday parties, and volunteered with p.e. class. I enjoy ministering to the youth and encouraging them in the Lord. I have written ministry books and Gospel music! I also love to cook and bake my own recipes of nutritional meals! Children love to make fun treats and that is an activity where I can help them build their skill set. I recently was a substitute teacher for preschoolers at Montessori school. I encouraged them to be creative with their abstract designs while drawing, made sure they safely baked muffins, taught them the value of sharing crayons and materials while learning, led students to sing nursery songs, celebrated their knitting work of creating pillows, & inspired them with an imaginary swamp at recess. It was an epically memorable experience! I had a blast performing a theatrical play for children at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta as an art therapist. I also did theater shows with Miracle Plays at libraries and events that were interactive and memorable for the children. While studying early childhood development at KSU I enjoyed my field experience at elementary schools and daycares. I taught students how to be confident, read books to them about adventures, encouraged them to use their gifts, helped them with class projects, shared wisdom, and made them cry laughing. I have experienced being a babysitter for my neighbors little girl when her mother has a night out on the town. I have also been a caretaker for my beautiful toddler nephew on many occasions. I love being a role model and incorporating Montessori teaching to adolescents to help them develop their skill sets and gifts at a young age.
