Hiii! My name is Abrianna! From the time I was old enough to babysit I fell in love with engaging young children in how to learn new tasks. I went to college to become a teacher and this is currently my 6th year teaching. I have my teaching license in elementary education and special education. I began caring for children at the age of 12 and 13 after my mother signed me up for a babysitting course at the Red Cross. I babysat children of all ages beginning with infants and up to school age children. Most of my clients were from my church and within my neighborhood. I helped take care of my niece from an infant and she is now an adult. I also took care of my godson and started keeping him overnight and for the weekends from the age of 4 months and he is now 8 years old.

I'm a former preschool teacher with a degree in Psychology from UNC-Chapel Hill. I also have two grown children of my own. I have worked in private homes for almost two years now. Working privately, I really get to know the children one on one. This creates a special bond not only with the children, but also with the parents. Trust is key in childcare. I work mainly with younger children (newborn to 6 years old), but I am able to work with any age group. My experience as a preschool teacher allows me to create fun learning experiences in-home, whether it is for babysitting or something more long-term. I have always loved working with children since I was a babysitter in high school and nanny during my college summers. After having my own children, I became very involved in volunteering for the school system. I assessed incoming kindergartners and tutored elementary school children. As a preschool teacher, I developed engaging activities (including daily crafts, reading, music, and play) to enhance children’s creativity and motor skills. I also created weekly themed lesson plans for the 3-year-old class. I led daily circle time to review the alphabet, numbers, shapes, calendar information, weather, and themes. This position also included communicating with parents regarding their child’s development, progress, and issues. Taking care of children is the most rewarding experience. I feel children can teach us so much about life through their eyes. I can't imagine doing anything else!

My name is Kathleen Elsberry and am a current resident of Winston Salem and happily married to my husband of over 30 years David. I have 3 children - 2 who are out of the house and the youngest who is a Sophomore at ECU. We have 3 dogs (2 of which are puppies) and 5 cats last, all which keep us on our toes. I am currently able to be a full time stay at home Fur Mom and enjoy it very much! I also work part time as a baby sitter for two little girls whose ages are four years old and 18 months and whose parents work for the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office. I have also recently enrolled in the medical coding and billing program at DeVry University Online. After I earn my undergraduate certification in this program, I will purse other degrees within the same program. I also hold several different degrees in Early Childhood Education and have taught children both in the preschool setting and Sunday School setting including those children with special needs. I also take online certificate courses involving early childhood education so as to stay current with what is needed in the classroom - inclusion in the classroom, first aid, illness prevention etc. I have just completed several courses and have printed out certificates for each completed course.
