Hello, my name is Makayla Westphal. I am a Junior at UW-La Crosse. I am studying Elementary/Middle Education. I am excited to teach kindergarten after receiving my degree. I provide before and after-school care for kiddos in the La Crosse area. I was also an assistant coach for Tee-ball, U10, and U12 softball. When I am not coaching, I umpire U10-U14 softball and baseball. Over winter break, I am an Educational Assistant in various classrooms at my high school. I am CPR certified. I’m 19 years old I have 2 cats (Rosa and Oreo) I also have two dogs (Luna and Bailey) the last animal that I have is a ferret and her name is Nala. I used to be a lead teacher at a daycare. I also took classes in high school that involved children. I have my CPR certificate and Assistant Teacher certificate through my high school. I did take other classes to get a better understanding of children. I absolutely love kids they are such a bundle of joy and it’s so happy to receive hugs from children and to just be a kid again with them. I have babysit for a few of the kids I taught and I still babysit my own cousins from time to time.
