Cancellations
Cancellations affect how others view the reliability of SitterTree. Repeated cancellations will result in account closure.
How do I cancel a job?
Jobs may be canceled on the Upcoming Jobs page in SitterTree. Sitters are encouraged to consider the inconvenience to the family or group and give as much notice as possible so other arrangements may be made.
Is there a fee for canceling a job?
Yes, cancellation fees apply once you are booked for a job.
- $10 – Cancellations made anytime after you are booked
- $20 – Cancellations made within 12 hours of job start
- $25 – Cancellations made within 3 hours of job start
- $35 –Cancellations made within 1 hour of job start
- $45 – Cancellations made after a job has started
What is considered a last-minute cancellation?
A last-minute cancellation is any cancellation made within 12 hours of a job start time.
What if I am ill/have an emergency and need to cancel last minute?
Visit your upcoming jobs to cancel any job. If you are feeling ill, we recommend canceling, rather than waiting in hopes of feeling better. This gives the family or group time to make other arrangements.
What happens if my account is closed due to repeat cancellations?
If your account is closed due to repeat cancellations, all future job bookings will also be canceled. You may continue accessing your account to withdraw any remaining payments and to download tax forms.
Will I be paid if a family or group cancels on me?
If a family or group cancels on you, you will be paid a cancellation fee according to the policy you set on the Services page of your profile.
What if I am late to a job?
If you arrive late to a job, your booking and cancellation policies will no longer apply. You will be paid for the time worked. If a family or group chooses to cancel a job because you are late, you will forfeit your cancellation fee.
