What are booking and cancellation policies?

Child care providers set their own booking and cancellation policies. These policies apply when you book a job.

Booking policies

Child care providers set a minimum number of hours they require to be paid for each job, between 1-4 hours.

If you book a provider for a job shorter than the provider’s minimum hours, you will be responsible for paying the total amount of their minimum hours.

Cancellation policies

Child care providers set their cancellation policies. If you cancel a job after booking, you will pay a cancellation fee to the child care provider through SitterTree based on their policy.

Child care providers may choose from the following cancellation policies:

• No cancellation fees
• Flexible
• $10 any time after booking
• Moderate
• $20 within 12 hours of start time
• $10 any time after booking
• Firm
• $45 after start time
• $35 within 1 hour of start time
• $25 within 3 hours of start time
• $20 within 12 hours of start time
• $10 any time after booking

Where to view policies

You can view a child care provider’s booking and cancellation policies on their profile under the Services tab.

The policies in place at the time the provider applied to your job will apply at payment, even if they later change their policies.
