How do I edit or cancel a job?

You can update or cancel your job in your account.

Editing a job

If something changes but you still need a provider, update your job details. You can edit a job up until the start time. After that, communicate any changes directly in chat.

  • Go to Jobs > Find your job
  • Open the menu next to the job > Edit job

1. Choose which jobs to edit (for recurring jobs) Select whether to edit one job or all jobs in the series

2. Update job details You can edit details including:

  • Start and end dates and times
  • Unpaid break time
  • Job contact
  • Job description

You can also edit the hourly rate until a provider is booked. (Note: For jobs in California, hourly rates can only be edited by providers.)

Once your edits are complete:

  • Review job > Save changes

What to expect after editing

After you make edits to a job, providers will be notified.

  • If candidates have already applied, they will be notified of the changes
  • If a provider is already booked, they will be notified and can review or cancel if needed

We recommend confirming changes in chat before editing a booked job to make sure it still works for your provider.

Canceling a job

If you no longer need a provider, you can cancel your job at any time.

  • Go to Jobs > Find your job
  • Open the menu next to the job > Cancel job

1. Choose which jobs to edit (for recurring jobs) Select whether to edit one job or all jobs in the series

2. Confirm cancellation Select a reason, add any details, and confirm.

What to expect after canceling

  • If you cancel before booking a provider, any applicants will be notified and there will be no charge to your account.
  • If you cancel after booking, the provider will be notified and cancellation fees may apply. See below.

Cancellation fees

After cancelling a booked job, fees may occur.

  • If you cancel after booking a provider, your service fee or booking will be refunded to your SitterTree account or bookings balance for future use. You will pay a cancellation fee to the child care provider according to their cancellation policy.
  • If you cancel all jobs within a recurring job series, you will be charged one cancellation fee per booked provider.

Once a job is canceled, you will not be able to chat with the provider unless you have booked them for a different upcoming job.
