What do I do if a sitter is a no-show?
If your sitter has not arrived, you can take the following steps.
Steps to take
- Allow a short grace period
Wait 10-20 minutes past the scheduled start time, as delays can happen.
- Try to contact the sitter
Send a message or call through the app to check in.
- Report the no-show
If the sitter has not arrived or responded, report the no-show in SitterTree.
Reporting a no-show
If the sitter has not responded and has not arrived after a short grace period, report the no-show in SitterTree to ensure you are not charged for the job.
- Go to Jobs > Find the in-progress job
- Open the menu > Report no-show
- Add details and submit
If the job has already ended, locate it under Past and follow the same steps.
Booking a new sitter
If you still need care, you can post a new job. You may need to adjust the start time to allow for arrival. You can book a sitter up to 30 minutes before a job’s start time and you must provide the sitter at least 30 minutes to get to the job. After booking, use chat to confirm timing.
Payment
If a no-show is reported, you will not be charged the sitter’s wages for that job. You must report the no-show to ensure your account is not charged.
Quality standards
Repeat sitter no-shows violate SitterTree’s Quality Standards, and can limit or permanently restrict a sitter’s access to the platform.
