How do I pay my sitter?
After a job is complete, your sitter will submit a payment request through SitterTree. You’ll be notified when it’s ready to review and pay.
Paying your babysitter
- Go to Jobs > Past > Find your job
- Open the menu next to the job > Complete payment
Then:
- Review the request
Check the start and end time, total hours, and amount.
- Proceed to payment
Select Go to payment
- Add tip and/or apply Sitter Bucks (optional)
You can add a tip or apply Sitter Bucks if available
- Complete payment
Submit payment. Your card on file will be charged.
Payment timing
- Sitters have up to 24 hours after the job to request payment
- You have 24 hours from the time of payment request to review and complete payment
If a sitter does not request payment within 24 hours, SitterTree will automatically submit a request using the booked job details.
If you do not complete payment within 24 hours, you will automatically be charged the requested amount to your card on file.
It’s important to review and pay your sitter within 24 hours to ensure you are charged correctly.
If something looks incorrect
If the payment request is not accurate, you must dispute it within 24 hours of submission. Learn more about Disputes.
Payment methods
Per our Terms of Service, all payments for babysitting jobs, including tips, must be completed through SitterTree. Paying outside the platform may result in duplicate charges and may impact account access for both you and the sitter.
Nanny jobs
For nanny roles, payment is handled directly between you and the nanny. These payments are not processed through SitterTree.
How do I pay my nanny?
Nanny jobs on SitterTree are designed to help you connect with candidates. Once hired, you’ll pay your nanny directly outside of SitterTree. For more information, refer to IRS guidelines for hiring household employees.
