How can I chat with a child care provider?

You can chat with a provider after booking to confirm details, share instructions, and stay in touch.

Starting a chat

  • Go to Jobs > Find your job
  • Open the menu next to the job > Chat

Once booked, either you or the provider can start the chat.

The chat will remain open unless the job is canceled. The chat will close after payment if you have no other upcoming jobs booked with that provider.

Viewing chats

Once a chat is open, you can view it in your inbox.

  • Go to Chat to view your inbox
  • Search conversations and manage messages

From any chat, open the menu to mark as unread, archive, or report.

Calling

You can make calls with providers you have an open chat with directly through SitterTree. Calls are made through masked calling, so phone numbers are not shared.

  • From an open chat > Select the phone icon

Notifications

You’ll receive notifications for new messages based on your settings.

Privacy and safety

  • Keep all communication in the SitterTree chat
  • Avoid sharing sensitive personal or payment information
  • Report chats if needed

Messages are saved and may be analyzed for customer support, product improvements, and other purposes as outlined in SitterTree’s Privacy Policy.
