Are sitters background checked?

All sitters are required to complete a background check to access and remain active on the SitterTree platform.

Background checks are completed through a third-party provider, Checkr. Background check badges reflect the type of check completed and the date it was issued.

You can view these details by selecting the background check badge on a sitter’s profile.

Types of background checks

• Basic Background Check: Sitters earn this badge by completing an annual background check that includes a social security trace, global watchlist search, sex offender search, and national criminal check for all known aliases.
• Premium Background Check: Sitters earn this badge by completing an annual background check that includes a social security trace, global watchlist search, sex offender search, national criminal check, and county-level checks for all known aliases.
