Have Georgia preschool substitutes been fingerprinted by DECAL?

Child care providers can earn the DECAL badge to qualify for jobs at licensed child care centers in Georgia.

About the DECAL badge

Providers earn the DECAL badge after receiving a comprehensive satisfactory criminal records check through the Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning (DECAL).

If your group is listed as a licensed child care provider in Georgia on SItterTree, you will only see applicants with the DECAL badge. This means the provider has a portable comprehensive satisfactory criminal records check that can be entered into your KOALA system before they begin work.

About Pre-service training

Providers may also earn a Pre-service training badge by completing a third-party Health and Safety Orientation Training and uploading their certificate to SitterTree.

Additional qualifications

Providers may also have badges such as CPR, First Aid, and more.
